Dr. Jenna Jorgensen | Founder & Naturopathic Physician

Pacific Northwest Explorer | Novice Paddleboarder | Gardener

I consider the work I do as a naturopathic physician an art form. I’m a strategist for your well-being, collaborating with you to find the root cause of your dis-ease and coming up with a plan to address that cause that fits into your life.

The beauty of naturopathic medicine is that we have the space and grace to spend the time necessary to identify Environmental, Lifestyle, and Mind obstacles that could be keeping the body from healing. Our toolbox is expansive, and there is always something more we can try.  When I can articulate this to patients well, and they leave my office feeling heard and hopeful, I feel like I’ve done my job.

I’m a former picky eater raised in rural Wisconsin on meat and carbs who had chronic knee and gut issues. After learning about nutrition in medical school, cooking more whole foods, supporting my body with herbs and supplements, and managing my stress, I could support my health daily. Now I can educate and help others as they make sustainable changes, so someday soon, their health will require much less effort.

Outside of work, I find joy in watching my daughter grow and explore the world around her, and I love to explore the Pacific Northwest myself—via food, pedal, and the occasional paddle. My husband and I tend our urban garden, learn about regenerative farming and permaculture, and cultivate our whole foods culinary skills.

Dog Lover | Soup Enthusiast | Conscious Consumer

I view health as freedom. My aim as a naturopathic physician is to help you feel empowered in your quest for health so you can live fully and with vitality. I will collaborate with you to discover the underlying cause of your health concerns and to choose the tools that will make the biggest impact in a way that is practical and sustainable. I love what I do and consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of your health journey.

As a former competitive athlete, I was always interested in what we can do to allow the body to function optimally through nutrition and other tools. I had always wanted to be a family doctor, so when I learned about naturopathic medicine, I realized I could be the kind of doctor I wanted to be, combining modern diagnostics and technology with tried and true healing tools and practices.

Outside of work, I’m learning how to be a new mom and watching my son grow and change every day. I love to cook and experiment making herbal concoctions. My husband and I enjoy exploring Bellingham with our two dogs and getting together with family and friends to share a meal.

Ruth Droullard | Neurofeedback Practitioner

Nurturer | Islander | Storyteller

I believe our minds want to be resilient, stable, and calm. My goal is to offer a safe and peaceful presence that encourages distracted, anxious, troubled minds toward flexible resiliency. I provide a nurturing environment where your nervous system can rest into its healing work. Neurofeedback is a faithful tool that provides your brain the opportunity to see itself and grow in these ways.

I love watching downcast, despairing eyes become hopeful and bright after a neurofeedback session. I love watching parents delight in the growth and development of their troubled children. I love hearing how communication and relationships in my patients’ homes transform from volatile and reactive to vulnerable and responsive. I love seeing hearts and minds hardened by years of trauma and despair open to the possibility of hopeful new relationships or employment opportunities. I love seeing people come alive again in places where all hope had died.

Tending the healing of my own traumatic past gives me courage to believe that healing can happen for everyone. I believe that our deepest sorrows bring beauty. I believe renewed hope can spring forth like flowers burst out of cracks in concrete.

When I’m not working, I love playing with our grandchildren, listening to their stories and watching them grow in strength and character. I love spending time outdoors hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, going to the beach, and cooking hearty soups for laughter-filled family gatherings

I am fascinated by the mind and what it means to be human.

I believe that a flourishing mind is a mind that is curious, resilient, and bravely integrated. My goal is to offer a safe, accepting, rewarding, and joyful space for the mind and brain to develop flexibility, adaptability, and cohesion. Neurofeedback provides us with a wonderful opportunity to encourage this type of growth.

I have always loved philosophical questions that lead us down paths of self-discovery. My cross-cultural experiences include living on a medical ship in West Africa, touring with a band in Canada, Europe, and India, and working with various programs serving children and the underprivileged. These have formed and encouraged me in the work I do with neurofeedback. Any work, research, or study of the mind will lead us toward philosophical questions as much as it will to scientific ones. My quest to understand and find meaning in the world has led me to this field at the intersection of mystery, science, spirituality, and philosophy.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy cooking, listening to music, playing, singing, reading, laughing, gardening, snuggling with my cats, teasing my godsons, and sitting on my porch with a hot cup of coffee.

Anne Treat Northwest Life Medicine Clinic Manager

Anne Treat | Wellness COach | Clinic Manager

Culinary Adventurer | Beekeeper | Hiker

I love working with individuals, teams, and systems to make them stronger, more resilient, effective, and whole. As the Clinic Manager at Northwest Life Medicine, I support our team to evolve and vision our collective goals, and we work together to actualize them. As a Wellness Coach, I have a similar opportunity with our patients— offering encouragement, motivation, and support towards their personal lifestyle and health goals. Participating in the transformations of our patients as they regain vitality and wellness is intensely gratifying.

Outside work, I am happiest when I am active and rooted in nature. I live on acreage on Lummi Island and am so grateful to get to interact with the beauty of this special place. Hiking is my daily practice—it invigorates and grounds me. No matter what else happens in a day, my morning time on the trail is a small piece of joy and self-care that is sacred to me.

I spend much of my time tending to the plants in my huge garden/small farm, getting myself into trouble on my tractor, and keeping hives of bees— I learn so much from watching them. I’m also an avid cook with a background in culinary writing, and I love trying out all sorts of new things in the kitchen. My instant joy boosts include dancing, trampoline jumping, and swimming in the ocean. I am blessed with wonderful friends and community and am happiest when my home is filled to the brim with laughter, delicious food, loved ones, and children.
